Save to Calendar 2021-10-12 09:00:00 2021-10-12 13:30:00 State of Education The Greater Houston Partnership will host the third annual State of Education on Tuesday, October 12 featuring a fireside chat conversation with David Leebron, President of Rice University and Partnership President and CEO Bob Harvey.    Prior to the keynote luncheon, a morning panel discussion will explore the outlook for public education in Region 4, which represents more than 1.1 million Houston-area students. Panelists include:  HD Chambers, Superintendent, Alief Independent School District  Jennifer Blaine, Ed.D., Superintendent, Spring Branch Independent School District Moderator: Dr. Melanie Johnson, President & CEO, Collaborative for Children   The State of Education demonstrates the Partnership's efforts to advance high quality education and advance opportunity for all. Through these conversations with leaders in education, attendees will hear how a strong education system contributes to the long-term success of our young people, increases equity, and is intrinsically tied to Houston’s ability to remain competitive with a talented workforce.   Health and Safety Notice  The Greater Houston Partnership looks forward to welcoming our members and the business community at large back to in-person events. As we return to gathering in person, we are committed to keeping you informed on our protocols to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.  The Partnership requires all in-person event attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have received a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to attending an event. We will also continue our policy of requiring attendees and staff to wear face masks at all meetings and events, except while eating or drinking.  The Partnership continues to encourage Houstonians to get vaccinated and follow health and safety guidance to reduce the continued transmission of COVID-19 in our community.
