However, a combination of structural drivers are impacting the availability of talent and workers: baby boomer retirements, low birthrates, shifting immigration policies and changing worker preferences. This talent shortage is impacting economic growth throughout Texas, and industries and organizations are finding creative pathways and talent pools to address this shortage. By engaging with specific populations, launching targeted programs both in organizations and education institutions, and addressing policies that both expand and constrain talent pipelines, the Houston region is actively employing innovative thinking to ensure continued economic growth and success.
