The greater Houston region offers a wide variety of talent at all skill levels. As Houston continues to grow, the need for a regional focus on developing tomorrow's workforce through strong education systems at all levels while also educating young people on emerging industries and re-training mid-career professionals for high-demand careers is more important than ever.
This Council explores how Houston has developed a strong bridge between the talent needs of various industries and the educational programs being offered through colleges, universities and technical programs that ultimately offer equitable opportunity for all.
Speakers will discuss what employers can do to recruit a more inclusive workforce, focus on the skills that are needed, and the overall importance of long-term upskilling of their existing workforce.
We'll also hear how energy 2.0 companies are actively hiring displaced oil and gas workers in the region and what the higher education system is seeing as individuals are seeking professional development or certifications, and pursuing passion projects or new career opportunities.
