In recognition of International Women's Day, join the Greater Houston Partnership's Women's Business Alliance (WBA) for the 8th Annual Rise to the Top luncheon on Friday, March 8, 2019. Rise to the Top features compelling, candid conversations from outstanding female executives discussing the challenges and triumphs of succeeding as a woman in today's business environment. This year's panel features women who are first in their fields.
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Ruth Simmons, President, Prairie View A&M University, made history as the first African-American president at Smith College, the largest women’s college in the United States. Under her leadership at Smith, she started the first engineering program in a U.S. women’s college. She then served as the first female president of Brown University from 2001 until 2012, making her the first African-American president at an Ivy League institution.
