Energy and Sustainability Committee

Dedicated to strengthening Houston’s position as the Energy Capital of the World, the Energy and Sustainability Advisory Committee engages industry and policy leadership at the local, state and federal levels to ensure development and implementation of sound energy policy that promotes economic growth and job creation. With concerns surrounding obstacles to infrastructure development and international trade, the committee has worked to highlight and support positions and  legislation that would benefit the energy economy.

The Partnership's Priorities for the Energy and Sustainability Committee

  • Advocating for trade policies, legislation and a regulatory framework that benefits the Houston energy economy.

  • Supporting policies that foster the development of infrastructure and technologies in the region, including Carbon Capture, Use and Storage, that will strengthen Houston’s position as the Energy Capital of the World in a low-carbon environment.

  • Planning for economic growth by supporting the development of energy infrastructure needed to move energy, freight and people across the state.
