Marc Watts, Special Advisor to The Friedkin Group, has more than 30 years of experience occupying roles across the automotive, sports, hospitality and legal industries. He served as President of Friedkin for 14 years and is currently the Executive Chairman of Everton Football Club.
Prior to joining Friedkin in 2011, Mr. Watts was Vice Chairman and Managing Partner-Houston of Locke Lord LLP (now Troutman Pepper Locke LLP), where he oversaw cases involving corporate and securities law, as well as board governance and related matters.
Mr. Watts currently sits on the boards of Service Corporation International, Coterra Energy, and Highland Resources, Inc, and previously sat on the board of AS Roma. He also serves as Board Chair of Texas 2036; a nonpartisan public policy research and advocacy organization committed to securing Texas’ prosperity through the state’s bicentennial and beyond. Mr. Watts’ other civic and community board positions include the Jones School of Business at Rice University Council of Overseers, Greater Houston Partnership, United Way of Greater Houston, and Houston Methodist Hospital Foundation. He previously served as Board Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas (Houston Branch) from 2017 to 2019.
Mr. Watts holds a law degree from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University.
