Power Electronics, a Spain-based manufacturer with its U.S. headquarters in Houston, has broken ground on a new 53-acre campus in the region.
The company specializes in solutions for solar energy, energy storage, data centers, e-mobility and industrial drives. The campus will manufacture power conversion systems and is designed to be Power Electronics’ most automated inverter production site to date.

The campus will also feature two buildings totaling 850,000 square feet that will house manufacturing, logistics, research and development, training and corporate operations. Once fully operational, the campus is expected to deliver up to 40 gigawatts of annual production capacity and create more than 400 jobs in the Houston area.
“For the first time in many years, the United States will be able to meet its growing need for sustainable power generation capacity and energy resilience through local manufacturing, supported by the most advanced technology in the world,” said David Salvo, CEO of Power Electronics, in a news release. “Our 40 GW Houston Campus will help shape the future of energy and AI growth globally.”

Power Electronics’ new campus adds to a growing wave of energy manufacturing investment across the Houston region.
TMEIC Corporation Americas, SEG Solar, TOYO and Waaree Solar Americas have announced projects spanning solar modules, cells, inverters and power equipment for data centers. Together, those projects represent more than $800 million in capital investment and more than 1,000 potential manufacturing jobs.
